Château Bouscaut is one of the 14 Grands Crus Classés of Graves for both its white and red wines, in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Sophie Lurton has been running Bouscaut, along with husband Laurent Cogombles for nearly 30 years.
Covers 34ha with red grape varieties
55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec
Clay on a limestone base
Aged in oak barrels: 14 to 18 months – 45% new wood
Merlot 69 %, Cabernet sauvignon 20 %, Malbec 11 %
The red has powerful but elegant tannins and presents notes of red fruits, leather and toast.
