Description

The intense color Pape Clément 2006 exhales aromas of ripe fruit, mixed with woody notes that are still marked. The palate with very well managed tannins, and its considerable richness of flavors is very modern. A silkiness and a flexibility also which make us say that the Pope Clement 2006 has everything to please!

Tasting

“Tasted at Bordeaux Index’s annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Pape Clément has an intense bouquet that is very well defined, adorned with cassis, blueberry and subtle iodine scents that all gain momentum in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very well-judged acidity, the new oak neatly enmeshed and blessed with a precise, harmonious finish that lingers. This is a wonderful Pape Clément that will give much pleasure over the next 20 or 30 years.”Wine Advocate

Description

An attractive deep garnet hue. A superb, complex nose of great precision with black fruit aromas and smoky, mineral notes coming through. Well-structured palate with firm but ripe tannins, good fruit flavor and excellent length.

Tasting

“Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Pape Clement is composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot, with a nose that is slightly closed at this youthful stage–broody and earthy with baked plums, boysenberries and mulberries aromas plus touches of iron ore, tobacco, tapenade and charcuterie. The palate is medium-bodied and elegant with exquisitely ripe tannins, lovely energy and freshness and a long, mineral-laced finish.”Wine Advocate
