Third growth of Margaux, Château d’Issan is one of the oldest Châteaux from the Médoc. The wine would have been served during the wedding of Alienor d’Aquitaine and Henri Plantagenet in 1152 and the wall which completely surrounds the property is dating back from 1644.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The soil here is mainly made up of surface gravel on top of a clay subsoil
Aged in barrels for 16 to 18 months, half of which are new
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot
